About

Mary Nack

Mary is a successful serial entrepreneur and business woman with many years’ experience in sales and marketing as well as in coaching and training sales people – primarily in the real estate arena. Mary’s out-going personality, high energy, quick wit and ready laugh not only make her fun to be around but also contribute to her reputation as a “change agent”.

Mary has owned The M. Nack Team since 1997 – a boutique brokerage firm in residential real estate focusing primarily on the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago. Lincoln Square (the neighborhood  formerly known as Ravenswood) is home to Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel and infamous former governor Rod Blagojevich. These are only two of the famous personalities that have called Lincoln Square home. Others have included poet Carl Sandburg, the founder of Abbott labs Wallace Abbott – who actually started his business on Ravenswood Ave – and President of the Illinois Senate John Cullerton.

One of Mary’s more recent entrepreneurial endeavors was New Market Leaders  - a company she started with business partners Neil Venketramen and Debbie Battersby. New Market Leaders trained and coached real estate agents on how to use inbound marketing strategies to generate leads from the internet.

She was able to test the efficacy of the marketing skills she learned – and then taught – during her tenure at New Market Leaders when she became Director of Sales And Marketing in early 2011 for tech start-up cloudbakers. In her 120 days at cloudbakers, she was able to triple that company’s book of business.

Most recently, Mary has begun to work with her former New Market Leaders business partner Neil Venketramen on a new model for the real estate brokerage business. Their company, Chicago Real Estate Dream, will primarily focus on utilizing inbound marketing strategies to generate leads from the internet. “News at 11″ on that!

Although the daughter of a distinguished Navy Captain, Mary’s adult life has been as a Chicago resident. After starting out badly with one unhappy year as an undergrad at The University Of Chicago, she ended up as a proud alumna of Roosevelt University’s Chicago Musical College (now known as the Chicago College of Performing Arts). Today, she serves on the Advisory Board of the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate of Roosevelt University.

Mary’s better half and indispensable “behind the scenes guy” of many years is husband Bob. Together, they have one son, Karl, of whom they are both extremely proud. Mary’s hobbies include reading extensively, blogging occasionally, discussing politics constantly (Blue, thank you) – and taking notice of clever, off-the-wall marketing stratagems.

And tropical fish.
